Transducer Service

Being a part of ultrasound scanning machine which surpasses its smallness with usefulness and vitality, transducers has to be handled with utmost care. Our engineers are second to none in caring your machines with the care it deserves. Niranjan Ultrasound India Pvt. Ltd offers transducers service from all major ultrasound manufacturers and every ultrasound probe we service is tested and certified using the latest quality control techniques and comes with a standard warranty.

Can All Probes Be Repaired?
No. Although many ultrasound probes can be repaired, each needs to be evaluated individually. There are common problems with certain types of probes but we have found that only through a thorough evaluation the exact nature of the problem be assessed. There are also situations where a probe has multiple "problems" that are only discovered once the initial problem is fixed. However, we do offer standard repair costs on many makes and models. Piezoelectric and its impact
Faulty crystals caused many a functional disabilities in ultrasound transducers. The transducer incorporates a piezoelectric element, which converts the pulser voltage to acoustic energy during the “transmit” portion of the ultrasound acquisition cycle. Also, the transducer elements convert the acoustic echo to voltage in the “receive” portion of the acquisition cycle. Element sensitivity, capacitance, functional band width and centre frequency are some of the major parameters that uses in identifying a faulty transducers.
Transducer characterization techniques have already been well developed. Some manufactures have participated in developing the AIUM Standard Methods for Testing Single-Element Pulse-Echo Ultrasonic Transducers as well as ASTM-E 1065 Standard Guide for Evaluating Characteristics of Ultrasonic Search Units.

In high-technology manufacturing, part design and simulation of part inspection is done in the virtual world of the computer. Connecting a probe to a tester that gives a report on the functionality of a transducer based on globally-accepted parameters. The above diagram represents one such transducer which has erred. For a smoothly working probe, the peaks of the wave shown in the diagram must have been on the same line. This flaw shows that the acoustic module of this probe is not working properly. This can only be solved by replacing it with new scan-head.
Indiaultrasound pioneers in performing probe-head replacement and the always assures that the new scan-head is functionally comparable to the existing once in imaging, though their shape/appearance might be different from each other.
All major transducer troubles such as Low Gain (User can see the image but it appears on low resolution), Air Gap (In mechanical probes, air gap seems to occur due to oil insufficiency, which hence gives moving shadows. Electronic probes shows some bulbous on the layer and gives a black shadow.), Black Shadow (seen on the image at a few areas on the totally covered image. Black shadows might occur for different reasons – with the presence of air gaps as described above, due to the improper functioning of the crystal elements or due to cable cut), Cracks (Image and layer are good except some cracks in this case), Ghost Imaging (some images seem missing or overlapping, which might be evolved due to internal PCB problem. PCB’s with built-in transducers may likely to have ghost imaging. PCB’s can be serviced.)
